The inspiration for the 3D Printed Dress came from the translucent wings of the Greta Oto Butterfly.

I had to develop the base dress pattern to fit the smaller measurements of the 3D printer bed.

Each pattern piece was scanned then Travis Fitch skillfully integrated the 3D print into each piece so the print would fit perfectly within the shape of every pattern piece.

Each pattern piece was then carefully aligned and cut.

I developed this leaf print that was used through out the collection based on an agricultural science photo.

I also developed this "Vein" print, drawing inspiration from the concept of both humans and plants having a vein system.

We start our explorations on a small scale, using printouts of unique geometries to create experimental silhouettes. These concepts are then translated into full-scale wearable "sculptures."
